Key Lime Pie Daiquiri

Serves: 2 persons. Preparation time: 2 minutes.

• In a cocktail shaker, half full of ice, add the Rum, Lime Juice and Syrup. Shake 5 seconds maximum so as not to "water down" the drinks. Strain into 2 (Martini-shaped) cocktail glasses. Garnish with a thin slice of Lime if you'd like. ¡Salud!

Daiquari - One of the basic bartender cocktails. It originated in Cuba, was brought to New York City bars in 1902 and became an instant success. Plus rum drinks had a resurgence during WWII in the 1940s. Light Rum and Lime Juice are always used in the basic Daiquiri. Earnest Hemingway's version added Grapefruit Juice to the mix but less sugar. Today, Frozen Daiquiris are all the rage. For our recipe, Orgeat Syrup, made from Almonds, Sugar and Rose Water, gives our cocktail that "Key Lime Pie" flavor over a regular Citrus Daiquiri.
