Vieux Carré Cocktail

Vieux Carre Serves: 1 person. Preparation time: 5 minutes.

• One of Rich's favorite cocktails.
• Stir all the liquid ingredients in an Old Fashion glass first, to blend them thoroughly. Then add Ice Cubes and stir again to chill the mixture. Twist the Lemon Peel over the drink and add it as garnish. Can be served in an ice cold Old Fashion glass without Ice ("Neat") or with Ice ("On The Rocks").


"Vieux Carré" - Pronounced "View Ka-Ray", meaning the "Old Square" in French. It was created in 1938 by Walter Bergeron, the head bartender at the Carousel Bar at the Monteleone Hotel in New Orleans. It's named after the French Quarter. It is the south's answer to New York's Manhattan Cocktail.
