Jezebel - She was the wife of Ahab, the King of Israel. It was also the name of a 1938 movie starring Bette Davis and Henry Fonda. Jezebel Sauce likely originated in the Gulf Coast region of the US in the 1950s and got it's name because of its bold and potentially wicked flavor profile, much like her seductive and powerful nature in the bible. It's sweet and mildly spicy at the same time. Use it on items like Sliced Grilled Pork Tenderloin and Ham entrées or with Cream Cheese and Crackers on a Charcuterie Board. It make a nice glaze too.
